The Power of One Step: Embracing Change for a More Joyful Life

“Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.” – Jim Rohn

Why Change is the Key to a More Joyful Life

We all want more—more joy, more success, more fulfillment. But let’s be real: none of it happens by accident. There’s no magic moment where everything just falls into place. Change doesn’t just happen—we make it happen.

I’ve seen this firsthand.

Over the years, I’ve built two seven-figure businesses from the ground up—not because I had it all figured out, not because I had endless resources, and certainly not because the timing was perfect. I built them because I made a decision. I took one step, then another, and another. And every time fear or doubt tried to hold me back, I moved forward anyway.

That’s what Wild Growth for Women is all about—stepping into the next version of yourself, one intentional decision at a time.

The Myth of the “Right Time”

I didn’t grow my businesses by waiting for the “perfect time.” If I had, I’d probably still be stuck at square one.

Maybe you’ve told yourself things like:

• “I’ll start when I have more time.”

• “I need to be more prepared.”

• “I’ll make a change when things settle down.”

Let me tell you something: there is no perfect time.

If you wait for everything to be perfectly aligned before you start, you’ll be waiting forever.

Life is messy. Business is unpredictable. But momentum doesn’t come from waiting—it comes from moving.

The Power of One Step

Take one minute right now and ask yourself:

What is one thing—big or small—that could make your life even more joyful?

It doesn’t have to be a major shift. It could be:

• Setting a boundary that protects your peace.

• Investing in a coach, mentor, or program that will help you grow.

• Choosing to show up for yourself, even when no one is watching.

Here’s what I’ve learned after building multiple businesses and helping countless entrepreneurs grow theirs:

Small steps lead to big change.

Every transformation starts with one decision. One action. One moment of courage.

When I first started in business, I had every reason to fail. There were setbacks, obstacles, and moments where I questioned everything. But instead of waiting for the perfect plan, I kept taking the next step.

• If I didn’t know something, I learned.

• If something wasn’t working, I pivoted.

• If fear showed up, I pushed through it.

And over time, those small, daily actions added up to something much bigger than I ever imagined.

The same is true for you. Whatever you want—whether it’s success in business, personal growth, or more joy in life—it’s built step by step.

The Resistance to Change (and How to Overcome It)

Let’s be honest: change is uncomfortable.

It forces us to confront our fears, step into the unknown, and let go of what’s familiar. Even when we want something new, there’s a part of us that resists it.

That’s why when you start something new, you might hear these voices in your head:

• “What if I fail?”

• “What if I’m not good enough?”

• “What will people think?”

I know those voices well.

When I first stepped into the world of paid ads, people doubted me. When I pivoted and built another business, some thought I was crazy. But here’s the truth: people who doubt you aren’t building your future—you are.

If I had let fear dictate my decisions, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

So how do you push past the resistance and actually create change?

1. Shift Your Mindset: Change is Growth, Not Failure

We often see change as a risk—but what if we reframed it as an opportunity?

• Failure isn’t the opposite of success. It’s part of the journey.

• Growth isn’t about being fearless. It’s about moving forward despite the fear.

• Success isn’t about luck. It’s about consistent action.

When you start seeing change as a chance to become more of who you’re meant to be, it becomes exciting instead of terrifying.

2. Start with Just One Thing

If thinking about change overwhelms you, simplify it.

Instead of trying to overhaul your entire life at once, focus on just one thing.

• One habit.

• One decision.

• One action.

Then commit to it. Stick with it. Let it become second nature—then build from there.

3. Surround Yourself with Support

Change is hard when you’re doing it alone. That’s why community matters.

I didn’t build my businesses in isolation. I had mentors, peers, and a support system that encouraged me to keep going when things got tough.

That’s why I created Wild Growth for Women—a space where women can come together, support one another, and step into their fullest potential.

If you’re looking for a space where you can be seen, supported, and empowered to take action, you belong here.

Your Invitation to Step Into Change

So, let’s come back to that question:

What is one step you can take today to create more joy, success, or fulfillment in your life?

Maybe it’s finally prioritizing your health.

Maybe it’s starting that business you’ve been dreaming of.

Maybe it’s letting go of relationships that no longer serve you.

Whatever it is—don’t wait.

Take that step now.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to be fearless. You just need to start.

Because your life does not get better by chance. It gets better by change.

And that change?

It starts with you.
